Homemade smoothie with almond milk, fresh carrot ginger juice (fresh, as in I juice it), a banana and a date.
Lobster roll. Lemonade.
Pork fried dumplings. Kimchi ramen with pork cheek. Sparkling sake.
6:30 - hit snooze for the second time and roll over to check email/Instagram/Twitter… a lot happens in the middle of the night. Mosey downstairs and make a smoothie. Hit up my laptop, check email again. Start with Google Reader. Let the dog out the back door. It’s nice having a yard. Hot yoga. Come home sweaty.
Shower. Boil water. Pull out the Chemex and brew the new Ethiopian roast I snagged from Ceremony in Annapolis. Back to the laptop, finish up an identity for an agricultural investment firm. Lunch late. The Red Hook Lobster truck is on my side of town, score. Come home to new printing plates for someone else’s identity. Pull out the Cranes 220# [paper] and black ink. Warm up the press and print 500 business cards.
Husband is done for the day! He texts and we decide to meet at Toki Ramen, yum. There’s a wait. We head over to the Atlas Room for a drink. Me, Clover Club and Him, La Rosa Flip. Toki texts. We head over. Home. But first, Pitango. You can’t walk home and not want gelato. It’s worth the three block detour for cardamom and rhubarb. Shit, it’s late. Bed, sort of. First there is the mandatory ipad cruising. It’s a horrible obsession, horrible I tell you. And I need to finish with the Google Reader.
Benjamin Moore Onyx. The best black.
Dirty, I know. About five years ago, I started taking letterpress classes. I wanted to print. I love printing. Photos, paper stuffs, it’s always been my favorite. So, I took classes and bought a press. It’s moved around from place to place and I now print all of my work. I credit Rohner for the introduction to good letterpress. I don’t dare compare myself to Rohner, but I think I’ve got a pretty decent craft going on, for small runs.
I print mostly business identities and some personal stuff. I am working on a few small runs of paper goods that I am thinking about selling.
Netflix is a killer, it allows me to watch really bad tv … PBS, Downton Abbey and Sherlock. Flipboard, for blogs. The New York Times. Star Walk, to feed my astronomy obsession.
