Morning ➛
Wake up to the phone ringing, my face is still smooshed in the pillow while searching for the handset - “Good morning Ms. Lee, this is your 7am wake up call. The weather today will be high of…” Before bolting out of bed, I ask myself which city I am in…oh yeah, Denver. Core Power 2 Hot Yoga class. Take a shower, get dressed, throw a few $1 bills on the bed for housekeeping. Out the door.
Noon ➛
Product Seminar at Nordstrom Cherry Creek to debut the new Florence Broadhurst collection. Meet with the department managers individually to discuss sales, performance, and feedback. Merchandise all Kate Spade products, snap photos, send notes and photos to my wholesale team in our NYC headquarters. Stomach is growling. Go to New Saigon restaurant before heading to the airport. They have the best pho in Denver.
Night ➛
Flight back home. Work on my store recaps on my iPad. Read a trashy magazine to see what is going on in the world. Home and hungry again. Watch Top Chef on DVR. Crawl into bed with laptop. Review tomorrow’s schedule in the city. Spend another half hour deciding on a print from my photographer friend, Jeffrey Rothstein. Still indecisive. Connect iPhone to my Tivoli speaker and fell asleep to Beach House’s album, Teen Dream.

Three Last Things…
1. What’s up with those gold bursts behind your bed?
I fell in love with a wall installation with these sea urchin sculptures at Jayson Home and Garden. I have a collection of their shells from my annual trips to Greece…fingers crossed I never step on one.
2. With all of your travel, you have a lot of meals on the road. Any great restaurant discoveries?
*Arthur Bryant’s BBQ in Kansas City - they have the best pulled pork and their sweet heat sauce…man, pour some on road kill and I would eat it. *JCT Kitchen in Atlanta - their fried chicken is limited so I try to get there by 6pm. *Vij’s in Vancouver - could be the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Vij (the owner) walks around and chats with everyone - he has an incredible energy. He came to my table a few times…now that I think about it, I think he felt sorry for me because I was dining alone on Valentine’s Day!
3. A few years back you also helped design products for Kate Spade. You are so multi-talented. Tell us another secret talent/gift you have. And don’t be modest.
Lately I’ve gotten into pickling. I make a pretty awesome pickled red onion with cinnamon. I eat it with everything, like it’s Kimchee. Oh, wanna know another talent? I’m a world class receiver of foot massages.
