One fried egg (over medium) with toast (rubbed with garlic), arugula. Frank’s Red Hot Sauce.
A ham sandwich. Extra spicy mustard. Large black iced tea.
A dozen oysters (with lots of horseradish). A lobster roll without the bun. French fries. Glass of wine.
Wake-up and grab a glass of water. I check my e-mail. FIX BED! Turn on The Today Show. Then flip through On Demand Fitness videos and try to do some sit-ups and stuff. Pack for a trip to Puerto Rico. Realize that three out of four of my tank tops are a little tighter than usual (Winter!) so I make a note to try to run to American Apparel. I begin to work on the site for the next Issue featuring Darcy Miller, Editorial Director of Martha Stewart Weddings.
Realize that I will not make it to American Apparel, so I pull out two tank tops that are a little more forgiving and throw them in my suitcase for Puerto Rico. Learn how to make a .GIF. It’s addicting. Walk through Boston Common back home. My favorite part? This fantastic little bridge over the pond where there is usually an accordion player and it feels very French. Stop off at Hudson, my favorite store in Boston. Conference call with Amy DiTomasso of Sugar Chic to talk about possible G&F Tea Party in early Spring. While on the phone, I organize polaroids on our fridge.
Meeting with Hal from Champion Movers who comes over to give us an estimate for our move back to Chicago. He advices that we pack our own Taxidermy. Watch an episode of Dance Mom’s while I wait for Fran to get home. Finish Thank You notes to send out for our Engagement Party. Fran and I walk up the street to B&G Oysters. Return home. We listen to records on the couch. Our current favorites? Joe Cocker, Hello Dolly! and this Cuban album that is so fantastic. Read the second Hunger Games book in bed. Fall asleep.
I fell in love with these curtains. They’re Thomas Paul from Anthropologie. Originally, I wanted them in our living room, but when I got them, there was something sort of dark and dreamy about them. They were a perfect fit in the bedroom. With graphic striped walls and crazy octopus curtains, I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and think: Where the F am I?

We just visited the hometown of Lucille Ball—she would have to be at the top of my list right now.
